IADEI is launching its inaugural Fellows and Forum Program for a cohort of CIOs and CIO-track senior investment professionals and asset class heads who seek to amplify DEI in investment teams and portfolios.
During the first half of the one-year program, the group will participate in 5 one-hour monthly small group discussions on DEI featuring leaders in DEI governance, sourcing diverse talent, equitable underwriting, and equitable monitoring and engagement.
During the second half of the program, the group will set and work toward their own DEI goals through three quarterly one-hour small group discussions.

Since joining the foundation in 2007, John has served as a senior leader within Kresge’s Investment team, developing asset class strategy, managing risk and liquidity, evaluating managers and researching investment opportunities. He has also championed the department’s efforts to expand diversity, equity and inclusion of women and people of color within the industry and who manage investments on Kresge’s behalf.
Barker joined Kresge from the University of Notre Dame Investment office, where he was assistant investment director for 5 years. He earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and received a bachelor’s degree in finance with a minor in accountancy from Notre Dame.
A native of Pittsburgh, Barker is active in the metro Detroit community where he serves on various boards including the Children’s Foundation of Michigan and Forgotten Harvest. Muneeb Syed is a Senior Portfolio Manager for the W.K. Kellogg Foundation Investment Office (KFIO), the team responsible for strategically investing the diversified portfolio to maintain its purchasing power in support of W.K. Kellogg Foundation's mission over the long term. He is a member of the Private Investments team, where his primary responsibilities are to source, diligence, monitor, and invest in managers across the venture capital, growth equity and private equity portfolio. Muneeb received his MBA from Kellogg School of Management, and his BA from New York University. He is a member of Kauffman Fellows Class 27 and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation from the CFA Institute. Muneeb was born in Pakistan, raised in New York, and now lives in San Jose, California with his wife. Muneeb is a diehard sports fan, especially of his frequently struggling New York teams.
